Hello Spartans and friends!  It’s been too long since the MSU Packaging Alumni Association (PAA) has reached out to you, but we wanted to make sure our message and delivery was more timely and more exciting than ever before.  In the past, we’ve communicated to you all through various methods, many of which are now out of date.  As we update, you’ll find improved ways to access our site, more information about what we’re doing and easier methods to become more involved.

Many of you may be connecting with us for the first time, while others have been long time followers.  We welcome you all and would love to share what we’ve been up to, and how you can stay connected and get as involved as you’d like with us and the School of Packaging.

It’s been an exciting year to date, kicking off in April with our biggest School of Packaging award ceremony yet.  This is an unbelievable event, celebrating the top students in the SoP.  This year, over 70 student scholarships were granted.  Also celebrated on this night were awards for the PAA Young Alumni, Innovation and last but not least, 2 new inductees into the PAA Hall of Fame!  Congratulations to all of the winners.  I can’t think of a better venue to meet up and coming packaging talent or network with industry experts.  Remember, sponsors to the PAA are granted tickets for this event.  Also included for all sponsors and award winners this year was an all-access, VIP Tour of the Duffy Daugherty and Skandalaris buildings as well as the Jack Breslin Center.  This was an amazing experience you won’t want to miss in the future!  We hope to see many more of you here this next spring.  Please contact us if interested, by clicking on the CONTACT tab!

With summer coming to an end, the excitement of fall quickly approaches.  This should be another fantastic year for Spartans and a busy fall for the PAA!   The thrill of fall term begins with more and more freshmen entering MSU as declared School of Packaging majors.  We’re already gearing up for our annual homecoming tailgate on September 27^th – come one, come all.  It’s also a Chicago Pack Expo year.  This means the PAA invites you all to attend our Pack Expo Reunion, another fantastic networking event for students, faculty and industry.  See our EVENTS section for more info.

Lastly, we are excited to introduce our new MSUPAA website.  This new website was created for you.  It will hopefully allow you to better understand what’s going on at MSU’s School of Packaging.  It will allow you to become more involved in the School and the Alumni Association.  Most importantly, it will allow all of us to better fulfill our mission of Keeping MSU the School of Packaging.  I want to thank all of those involved in the development and launch of this website.  The team has worked extremely hard to bring this to you, for you.  Please check it out, navigate through it, and let us know how we can continue to improve it.
